The shooting of Kriti Sanon and Manoj Tripathi’s upcoming film Mimi has been stalled. According to recent reports, the actors kick-started the first schedule of the film in Churu, Rajasthan, a few days ago, but it was stalled by the local police as permission was not taken to shoot the film in the city.
Reports suggest that director Laxman Utekar started shooting Mimi before taking the permission from the local authority. Police officials have seized the shooting equipment for the time being. City SP Tejaswini Gautam informed that the Laxman Utekar had applied for the permission to shoot the film in Churu but before the city administration could grant the permission, the makers started the shooting.
District Collector Sandesh Nayak ordered the Superintendent of Police, Churu, to take action against the makers for commencing the shoot without permission after which the police took the aforementioned steps.
In an earlier interview with IANS, Kriti talked about the film. She said, “I am quite nervous. But nervousness is what is so exciting. The fact that I haven’t done something like this before, the fact that it’s so away from me and it’s got emotions I have never experienced, is what is challenging.”
She added, “But at this point of time, I want to do something different, take a risk and push the envelope. I’m glad that Mimi is going to be my first female-centric film.”
Sharing the first poster of the film, Kriti wrote, “Life is a journey filled with unexpected miracles. Get ready for a journey like never before, #Mimi !! This one’s gonna be soooo special.”
Mimi is being directed by Laxman Utekar. In Mimi, Kriti will play the role of a young surrogate mother. She will reunite with her Bareilly Ki Barfi co-star Pankaj Tripathi in the film.
