Fans are speculating if Mumtaz is making a big comeback with Netflix’s Heeramandi after spotting the legendary actress in a photo with Manisha Koirala and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Manisha Koirala is the star of the online series. The show’s creators have confirmed if Mumtaz would appear as well.
After some time on the chopping block, the sources now discover that legendary actor Mumtaz has accepted Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s invitation to star in Heeramandi.
For those who just found out, Mumtaz was initially given a role by Bhansali last year, but she turned it down since she felt there wasn’t much she could do. However, Bhansali has changed the part and now offers the illustrious actress a more substantial role than was initially planned.
According to sources, Mumtaz now prefers her part in Heeramandi than she did previously and has verbally accepted to appear in the project. The documentation will now be finished.
Beyond all legends on the screen, Mumtaz is a legend. Her return to the big screen, and that too in a film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is history.
In the company of legendary figures, love love and adore being with such magnificent creative people..my smile tells it all,” Manisha Koirala posted a selfie of herself with legendary Bollywood star Mumtaz and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Instagram yesterday only. Blessings, brilliance, Sanjay Lee LaBhansali, and Mumtaz.
Where courtesans were rulers is the catchphrase for Heeramandi. The online series’ cast is still a mystery. Bhansali remarked in an interview, “I had to live with this massive drama of the courtesans of Lahore for 14 years. It’s enormous and really ambitious.”
The red light area in Lahore is called Heeramandi. It is situated inside Lahore’s fortified walls. Since the 15th and 16th centuries, it has served as the city’s tawaif cultural hub.
