Bollywood and its obsession with these wars and ancestral historic movies regarding wars. Well the tale seems to be different and the action and vfx even makes it better. One such movie which was highly anticipated because of the lead stars casted in it has got onboard today. Well yes we are speaking of Mission Majnu which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandana in the lead.
The documentary-style opening of the movie gives us fleeting flashes as to how World War 2 was terminated by the bombings in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The backdrop then shifts to Rawalpindi, where RAW officer Tariq Ali (Sidharth Malhotra) is establishing the stage for the major act, which would eventually feature jet fighters from Israel, extremely clever Indian spies, and spectacular footwork from the deepest covert Indian operatives in Pakistan. Another reminder for us, the audience, to take the activities sincerely comes from the voice-over of RAW chief R N Kao, a personality who was vital to those occurrences. Yes its pretty exciting to hear this news as with the increasing time all our intrest has been piqued towards the sort of war and patriotic movies. RAW agents, soldiers etc characters and persona is something which has developed during these past few days and audience too seem to love it. Besides, these factors female characters as spy agents and national servoirs are loved more . Rashmika Mandana who is playing Nasreen who is Tariq’s love interest. She is the center of his heart, not just a piece of his disguise to be tossed away when the time is perfect. The chemistry between the two looks amazing.
Tariq is a very shrewd spy. He interacts with a prominent Pakistani intelligence commander and unearths leading knowledge in an unintentionally amusing scene. in about ten minutes. All the pieces come together when an elderly woman spills more information. However, Tariq’s troubled background continues resurfacing in flashbacks. Is he really dedicated to his country, his noxious supervisor (Hussain) home soon keeps asking? As and when necessary, his accomplices—a flamboyant moustachioed dhaba proprietor (Hashmi) and a grizzled mullah, whose identities we eventually appear as when required.
The movie had a good directorial, good screenplay and amazing storyline. The movie is definately slated to have 3.5 stars out of 5.
