The 2010 comedy film “Khichdi: The Movie,” directed by Aatish Kapadia, gave Bollywood aspiring actress Kirti Kulhari her breakthrough role. In the upcoming sequel, “Khichdi 2,” she will return to the role of Parminder.
The Parekh family was the focus of the 2010 film “Khichdi: The Movie,” which also had interesting chemistry between Kirti and Himanshu.
In films like Shaitan, Pink, Blackmail, Uri: The Surgical Strike, and the web series “Four More Shots Please,” Kirti appeared.
When asked to be in Khichdi: The Movie, Kirti recalls, “When I was asked for the job, I chose to train and do my studies for the role. Khichdi was my first experience working on a comedy film. When I first met the film’s director, Aatish, I enquired as to how I should get ready for the role. When he said, “Just arrive on the sets and get to have fun,” I was taken aback. Given that I have a history in theatre and am accustomed to working hard in a role, it was actually rather liberating. I’ve seen the movie about ten times, and each time, I thoroughly liked the feeling of being in a theatre with the other patrons and losing my mind.
As her life completes a circle, Kirti discusses her passion for the genre. “I enjoy comedy, but slapstick comedy is not my style. Situational comedies appeal to me. When people claim that humour is more challenging than drama, I, as an actor, don’t buy it. Yes, humour is more challenging than it first appeared. People mistakenly believe that humour consists only of small talk and that serious acting is only necessary for intense sequences. That is untrue. They both face unique difficulties. It’s conceivable that a certain performer lacks the comic timing of some others”.
Talking about Kirti kulhari starrer Khichdi: the movie.
Narrated by Jacky and Chakki, the two sage children of the hilariously outlandish Parekh family. A hare-brained dream of a snail-brained group of endearing losers was the subject of the film Khichdi. Himanshu, Hansa’s brother, was born with the absurd dream of creating a legendary love tale. The fact that he has no romantic relationships and is unable to win over any sane women is an entirely different thing.
