“Code M was my OTT breakthrough in 2020, and the first season was welcomed so warmly, that there were no two ways about returning for a sequel,” Jennifer Winget remarked of reprising her character in Code M season 2. There aren’t many shows where ladies get to be the hero because of the scarcity and variety of content available across platforms. To top it all off, Code M is set in the Indian army. So I’m ecstatic to be reprising my role as the brave and fierce Major Monica Mehra” she further cited.
“The upcoming season dives into Monica’s journey after she splits from her husband,” she noted, expanding on the plot. Monica, who has been entrusted with the Kargil Diwas event, must track down an assassin. A sequence of incidents unfold during her effort to arrest the perpetrator, and these events form the plot’s centre.”
Tanuj, who is new to the cast, talked about his character and what he’s learned from the show. “It was thrilling to be a part of the second season of Code M, where I play retired army officer Angad Sandhu,” he remarked. As an actor, I find this role to be sensitive and forceful, with its own quirks, which makes it quite satisfying. I received a firsthand look of army life, including the intricacies of their relationships, their families, sacrifices, and bravery, among other things. Above all, they have a warrior’s spirit. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.”
The series shall comprise of eight episodes and is helmed by Akshay Chaubey. The series will be streaming on Voot platform from June 9th.
