Darlings, Alia Bhatt’s directorial debut, now has a trailer that expands on the frog vs scorpion tale she told in the teaser. The movie also includes Roshan Mathew, Vijay Varma, and stars Alia Bhatt and Shefali Shah as a witty mother-daughter team.
The trailer opens with Vijay Varma’s portrayal of Hamza Shaikh saying that he has made the decision to leave his wife Badrunissa (Alia Bhatt). And thus, a gloomy yet exciting voyage starts. In an effort to track down Hamza, Badrunissa and her mother (Shefali Shah) choose to submit a complaint. In another video, Hamza is seen assaulting his wife. So Badrunissa makes the unkind decision to treat Hamza the same way he abuses her. Badrunissa declares, “Enough defence, I’ll play attack now,” and she follows through on her promise. Badrunissa decides to discipline Hamza with the aid of her mother and conceals her husband inside the home. Simply put, these Darlings don’t have the best attitudes.

Darlings, which was bankrolled by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma, will debut on Netflix on August 5. Alia had expressed her enthusiasm for the movie in a statement, “Since Darlings was also my first production as a producer, and with Red Chillies, it has a very special place in my heart. We are quite pleased and proud of how the movie has turned out, and we hope that it will enthral and excite viewers everywhere.”
