Sanjay Pandey, the Mumbai Police Commissioner, has released a statement regarding the latest breakthroughs in the inquiry into the death threats received by Salman Khan and his father, Salim Khan.
Pandey added, according to sources, in a statement: “The matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness by the Mumbai Police Department. We’re looking into the letter he received and the situation as a whole… no one has been taken into custody as of yet. If necessary, we’ll beef up security.”
The cops, who are also probing the death of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala by mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, interrogated him about the letter delivered to Khan’s dad on June 5th, according to the media outlet. Salim and Salman would soon share the same fate as murdered artist Sidhu Moose Wala, according to the Hindi letter. The note stated, ‘Tera Moosawala bana denge.’
The Maharashtra Department of Home Affairs had boosted security for the Bollywood actor earlier in the day. An FIR has also been filed against an unidentified individual for sending the ‘threat.’
Immediately after the incident, Mumbai Police filed a FIR and dispatched a squad of officials to the entertainer’s home to conduct investigations.
The team questioned the Khan family about the letter, headed by Joint Commissioner of Police Vishwas Nangre-Patil and other police.
The Bandra Police Department has commenced an investigation, while the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has begun its own inquiry.
Salim Khan, a prominent writer, was resting on a table at the Bandra Concert stage after a morning stroll when he received a letter from an unknown guy threatening to kill him and his actor-son. Salim Khan later called the authorities with the aid of his security staff, and a FIR was filed at the Bandra police office under section 506-II.
Salman’s security has been questioned since the death of Punjabi vocalist Sidhu Moosewala, since mobster Lawrence Bishnoi, who has appeared as a main suspect in the Congress leader’s assassination, had earlier threatened to assassinate the Bollywood entertainer in 2018.
