Once they obtain a picture of their murder accused in Gumraah, the police believe they have a case that is easy to solve. But when they identify two identical guys as their suspects, they could be in for a shocking awakening, and their case crumbles. The movie also shows us inside the minds of the suspects as they try to solve the mystery. Is it a case of vengeance or cold-blooded murder?
In his career, Aditya Roy Kapur takes on a dual role for first time. The two cops who are pursuing the two suspects are portrayed by Mrunal Thakur as well as Ronit Bose. Which one is preaching the truth and which of them is lying? The Gumrah trailer makes a suggestion that there may be repercussions.
The suspenseful drama, Gumraah is apparently based on real-life incidents. Also, the suspicions differ greatly. Although the other one is a thug with a short fuse, the former is polished and respectable. The investigation by the police into the gruesome killing of a young guy. Which also appears to take up a significant portion of the movie.
Vardhan Ketkar, a first-time director, has previously worked as an assistant on films including Brothers (2015), Kapoor & Sons (2016), and Mubarakan (2017). Producing Gumraah are Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. Thadam, a 2019 Tamil hit starring Arun Vijay & Vidya Pradeep, is being remade in Hindi. The suspenseful movie will premiere on April 7, 2023.

Aditya recently appeared with Anil Kapoor in the Hindi edition of the BBC drama series The Night Manager. He portrayed a former soldier who works as a hotel employee and is persuaded to take out a prominent arms dealer. Last seen opposite Dulquer Salmaan in the Telugu blockbuster Sita Raman (2022), Mrunal made a cameo appearance in Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee last month.
