Sheezan was detained by authorities after being taken into custody in December of last year. According to reports, he dated Tunisha, but their relationship ended a few weeks before she allegedly committed suicide.
Tunisha Sharma was discovered dead on December 24 on the premise of her program Alibaba Dastaan-E-Kabul, just minutes after she had taken a shot and spoken to Sheezan Khan, her ex-boyfriend at the time. When she failed to show up for her second shot, her teammates forced through the lavatory door and discovered that she had passed away. Sheezan was detained by Waliv police on December 24 after being charged with aiding suicide under Indian Criminal Code.

Just after Tunisha’s passing, Sheezan Khan was taken into custody. Vanita Sharma, her mother, accused him of aiding in suicide. Sheezan and Tunisha allegedly dated for a while last year, and according to his family, they ended things amicably a few days prior Tunisha was discovered dead. After the accused Sheezan’s police detention concluded on December 31, the Vasai court ordered him into a 14-day period of judicial custody, which was later extended.
Vanita, Tunisha’s mother, had made accusations against Sheezan, saying that he had beaten Tunisha and was pressuring her to convert to Islam. Falaq Naaz, Sheezan’s sister, claimed at a press conference that Tunisha’s depression was caused by her childhood trauma and that Tunisha’s mother had “neglected” her. The news conference was organised earlier this year by Sheezan’s mother Kehekhan Faisi, sisters Shafaq Naaz as well as Falaq, and his lawyer Shailendra Mishra.
